Nice designs and a cool gimmick that's a better way of encouraging coin collection than 99% of other levels, but I really would've preferred if this stuck to that gimmick all the way or did something more with it
While obviously I can't really speak on the whole level's difficulty, the relevant challenges are both decently fun, and in general I like the energetic feel of this. However I cannot tolerate those two black orbs at 13% why the fuck would you do the same motion twice RIGHT NEXT TO TWO STRONG BEATS IN THE SONG but THE 2ND ORB IS SYNCED TO THE 1ST NOTE
Also, there's something to be said with how there's no invisible speed portals at 76%. It certainly plays differently than it would with modern conventions, and it's something you don't really see anymore as levels have moved away from this style of broad visual sync and into more precisely timed clicks and effects
Very strong conceptual foundation getting you to experiment around with the gameplay, can't praise that enough, and in fact I think it's been praised too much given that a lot of the execution is lacking. Color puzzle will have you stuck in there for 10 minutes wondering what the fuck the solution is until you finally give up and watch a showcase which not only teaches you that you should've been paying attention to the colors in the ball but also that the order isn't random which is a major missed opportunity. And speaking of missed opportunities, #9 feels like such a waste of potential I couldn't help but feel disappointed when I figured out it's so simple. You have all these orbs flying around and for what?
The worst offender in the execution though is after you've solved all the puzzles. I really would've preferred... Literally anything else over "regular level with a different song", thanks. Some suggestions include
The rest of the original song
A little bit of the original song (ideal)
Nothing
Age is just a number
I can't get enough of this bullshit. 10 year olds making impossible(?) superbuffs of their favorite levels will come up with gameplay you can't even imagine. Like fuck yeah bro, Moon of Death. Wave mode, ball/cube dual, Memory cube flying through the spike, UFO sawblades, LIMBO 1st wave but mini, it's Moon of Death dawg it's lit
xo but not as powerful. I mean that not only in the sense that it's just generally not as polished as xo (it's still good though no doubt about it), but also in the sense that the energy is spread out everywhere and as a result there aren't any individual clicks or sections that carry as much weight as the ones you find in xo
It's definitely a classic, a good display of subtle theming done almost exclusively through the air deco, and it's especially good as far as the map packs are concerned, but I also don't really get why so many people see this as one of the best levels ever
This has several weak segments that the good parts normally wouldn't be able to support but the fact this was paired with "TamaN is coming back to GD oh my god" keeps it from being bad
Sorry to burst your bubble (pun intended) but it doesn't actually go inside the uterus
There is an ungodly number of issues I have with several aspects of this level which I don't feel like listing out. Some problems could be easily fixed, others not so much, but either way it's got such a strong base I really can't hate this
See the thing about a level being raw is that it also necessarily means it's unpolished. You're gonna get parts with crazy good visual sync, creative designs, and unique gameplay, but every once in a while you're also gonna get a part that's ugly, awkward, or so easily improved that it's painful.
