DON dokodokodoko DON dokodokodoko DON dokodokodoko DON dokodokodoko...
When your level is literally over an hour long with god knows how many creators it's necessarily going to vary in quality a lot, not to mention it'll feel rather disconnected. That being said, I think the good definitely outweighs the bad here. Almost feels like an old flash game collection akin to some of Bart Bonte's works. One of the few platformer levels I actually like
definitely did not review the wrong dead of night at first
VoTcHi and SyQual please finish The Hallucination extension
Another high-intensity good-but-not-great SyQual duo collab which I used to like a lot more. Great effects, really the highlight of the level (that double spike is genuinely up there as one of the best jumps ever), there are some good designs, and a few specific moments in the gameplay are just perfect. That being said there's a fine line between making something high-speed in a good way and making something go by too quickly, and this level is hopping back and forth across that line like a rabbit
I still don't know why Soulja Boy is in this video
Just a fairly interesting level. I imagine if this level was more known there'd be complaints about the obviously stolen effects but idgaf. In fact its nice to have a bunch of good effects all in one place instead of having to sit through the rest of infrared just for that one ball part, not to mention the gameplay is pretty neat.
Varies by part a lot, minuswaves are pretty boring but most gameplay is pretty cool, with a couple being proper standouts (The one with the orb spam and the color restrictions on the orbs specifically is god tier). I want to mention that usually obscuring a background design is a bad thing but in this it really adds to the mysterious, almost incomprehensible feeling this level gives off. You can't really make out all the details, very fuzzy, and I can say the same with a lot of structures in the 2nd part where it's difficult to tell what is and isn't supposed to be a face.
Interesting and well executed theming both in gameplay and deco, I absolutely love how outright deranged the path indicator looks, and the shurikens being thrown in sync with the music are a pretty nice touch, but too many parts are just visually flat and I can't really put this higher than a 7
It's like a toned down version of nine circles. It's good on its own (but not as good), it's an iconic part of the game (but not as iconic), everyone copied it (but not as much), and the majority of copies aren't as good as the original (but more than with nine circles).
Whoever first called this thing a Phobos sequel was spot on
Much like its prequel, it's very much all over the place, and some parts are a lot better or worse than others but really I can't bring myself to hate it. The worse parts and awkward transitions just add to how raw it is. Some great sync too.
Another level that I come back to every once in a while and then remember why I dropped it. That being said this is one of the best looking pre-1.9 levels excluding Majacko and Funnygame so I can't really give it anything lower than a 7
Same as previous review. I love how this forces you to walk on spikes, essentially making you learn how to cheat death. That being said, while learning to cheat death is pretty fun, connecting runs and beating this definitely wasn't the most fun experience I've had with this game, not awful though
