So glad we have a good level back at the #1 spot I was worried we were gonna be stuck with Necrotic- What? It got removed? And they put Tax Evasion back at #1? Why'd nobody tell me?

I had no idea what to expect going into this. For obvious reasons I haven't really been keeping up with a lot of the modern ILL landscape so I'd never heard of this before, but the moment I saw that dual miniwave spamming in sync with the music I knew I was in for a treat, and WOW did this deliver.

The sync (as mentioned) is so amazingly done everywhere, it really uses its impossible nature to the fullest with this high-speed song. You can't get stuff like this with regular gameplay. It's not just the gameplay either, the music also works in tandem with the theming too. Starting out dark but just itching to really let the energy out, and then letting that energy out with an absolutely euphoric drop. It's insane how great of a sense of progression this packs into such a short level. Haven't immediately fallen in love with a level to this degree since DEATH

is that fucking pluey

While not the best horror level in the game, this is certainly up there, especially in terms of the horror aspect itself. Given the lyrics, I imagine this level being in the mind of an extremely depressed person so thoroughly broken that they can't even escape and reminisce about their childhood without having to think about their current misery. Everything from having cotton candy at the amusement park, to watching TV, to yes, even the ship physics is destroyed and corrupted. And of course, the only exit is to UFO spam your way out of the mortal realm.

As for non-horror aspects of this, I really appreciate the use of transparent art in this to create a glitch effect, it reminds me a lot of (and was probably inspired by) how old 2.0 levels would get screwed up when fading in/out art. The gameplay is also pretty nicely synced, not so much in the drop obviously since that thing is so screwed up, but the predrop is good enough that it's worth mentioning.

Also this did the screen resolution change gimmick before Well Rested

I would like 154(?) of your finest loli pics

idk if I counted that right

A level so memorable you can still see it when it's invisible. Pretty much every great thing to say about Black Blizzard's gameplay, sync, effects, atmosphere, etc. can be said about this as well, just to a not-as-extremely-good degree. Two exceptions being structuring (where I'd say this actually outclasses BlBl) and its place in GD's culture (which for me was what really elevated BlBl to being in top 5 best levels ever).

Now you must DIE

Much has been said about this level, what it means, how it conveys that meaning, etc.

If you ask me, I think it's the perfect Lit Fuse sequel. That's my interpretation.

I could probably come up with something more advanced than that, but I'm too lost in the atmosphere of it all to think. Which is also a good interpretation of this level's meaning. When you're dying, you stop thinking. When you're about to kill yourself you also stop thinking. Hmm...

What was I talking about again? Oh right, Lit Fuse. It has all the same strengths Lit Fuse has with the atmosphere and progression and even some weird similarities, but not only that, this level is also above my skill level, so even if this did have the same gameplay issues Lit Fuse has, then I wouldn't be able to tell, which is certainly one way to fix that problem, yay I guess.

Perfectly unbalanced

Really good progression done mainly through difficulty rather than decoration. I think the mini ship just before the high fps wave is really the highlight. The music suddenly tenses up with only high pitched notes and hi-hats as you're forced to weave through hopelessly tight spaces at high speed. Even aside from the gameplay though, the little progression done through decoration is also very good. The background "turning on" and the red silence at the end, for example. The simple nature of everything (and that one miscolored cloud) also helps capture the song's off-putting vibe.

Iced actually understanding what made one of his levels good for once, wow

Much better sequel than Crystal Edge (and probably Pace Land too if that ever got finished lol). Probably even more off-the-rails insane than Diamond Blade, and manages to replicate DB's spirit really well (this is separate from just being insane but I don't have the words for it) without relying on direct references

the blood stained sand

Not as funny as Schafs II of course, but this more than makes up for it in just about everything else. Great deco, amazing sync, absolutely insane GP, and while the humor as a whole isn't up to its predecessor, the jokes this has are executed flawlessly

it was a mistake to cum here

The only genuinely good level published on the 1.9GDPS. Amazingly executed theme, iconic parts, unique gp and good sync, little details like the red flashes. Seriously great
