I cannot come up with a solid explanation as to why I like this level so much.
Best I can give is that the concept is really well executed (when I first saw this without further context I assumed this was an actual megacollab for longer than I'd like to admit lol) and the gameplay is interesting and well synced, but it really does not feel like enough for a 10/10. My philosophy is that reviews should be post-hoc explanations for a rating anyway
Well executed theme but every other aspect doesn't really live up to that
Most undecoratable layout ever made
Absolutely insane theme going on here. There are other levels with structures being broken up, sure, but I have never seen it done quite like this. Maybe it's that there are barely any proper "structures" whatsoever as even little groups of blocks are split up, maybe it's that you can't even tell what's on or off-grid, maybe it's that everything is rotated, maybe it's that it goes with the crazy song, it's probably all of these and more, but either way I love it.
The gameplay itself though is kinda iffy. It's got some good parts (predrop wave and a fair amount of the drop) but it doesn't really have any good parts, and anything that's not good here is kinda bad. Definitely doesn't ruin this though
Comedic classic. Weirdly atmospheric ending is iconic and makes every other part even funnier
Weirdly fun. Plus the intro is iconic and this has some pretty creative structures. A lot of quesitonable color usage though, even if that's kinda inevitable given this was 1.9 and the poundcakes require multiple channels
I have beef with levels you've never heard of
This level has the same problem as akunakunn levels where they don't take themselves seriously. Like yes this song is a meme but it's a good song and you shouldn't ruin that with horribly oversynced speed changes and big jumps. Also you should be allowed to not jump at that blue portal.
I Can't Fix Youuuuuuuuuuu
dubstep+spam=very good sync yes cool
Aside from that I like the theme and "statement" in this if you can call it that. Black holes are these completely incomprehensible objects so it makes sense to pair one with something that's not only physically impossible, but also broken in a way that can't be fixed. A message that no matter what hacks you try, you'll never be able to beat this.
Also this song works weirdly well with the collapsing space station visuals
When I rate a level a 1/10 I want you to keep it in mind that I rate pizdec a 2/10
