This too, is modded Minecraft
Disp's review says this didn't win the CC because it was unfinished, but if you ask me, the unfinished version of this level was still so good I would've chosen it without a second thought. Platnuu basically disappeared from the internet for several months a little while after making it, and Sea's CC video was also unlisted, but even with no videos available for that period it still managed to stick with me.
The designs and gameplay and atmosphere and theme are all soooo good dude. There are plenty of "tech" themed levels out there, but this really is something else. It's an interconnected network of fascinating machines all sending signals to each other, tightly yet elegantly packed together for efficiency.
The system is fully online all throughout, but of course, simply running on "blue mode" isn't enough energy for that intense drop. No, we need ORANGE MODE, with MODIFIED BACKGROUNDS AND DESIGNS. I don't know what that means exactly, but I like it, and I also like the fact that some effects still remain in the 2nd blue part, like the machines have gotten some upgrades or something.
I'm aware there are actual words in that buildup (which, by the way, I love the "ship portal lens" design at the start of it), but it's so distorted that I assumed it was random vocalizations. I'm gonna pretend that's true because that fits better somehow.
I used to kinda like this but every time I look at it I find more and more issues with the deco
DanTDM went here I think
It's a lot like Acropolis but platformer and more atmospheric but not as good. It feels brutal throughout, like you're desperately clawing your way through this abandoned post-apocalyptic(?) campsite(?), and the brutality of the gameplay should really speak for itslef. I really like this aesthetic, whatever it is. However for as much as I have to praise regarding the general vibe of it all, I can't really shake the thought that that's all there really is to this thing, and that kinda keeps me from getting lost in the atmosphere (haha creo) like some other levels do. Maybe the pointlessness is the point, but it kinda gets to a point, y'know?
ArcturusPromethean, but it's BLUE| A Short FIlm Analysis
This would've gotten a 2 if it kept the old color palette. That was cool. Unfortunately when I got erased from existence I took a lot of the braincells with me so they made it worse
Sorry to burst your bubble (pun intended) but it doesn't actually go inside the uterus
There is an ungodly number of issues I have with several aspects of this level which I don't feel like listing out. Some problems could be easily fixed, others not so much, but either way it's got such a strong base I really can't hate this
Akin to Sinister Silence in that it's shockingly boring for a song that's basically free entertainment. Even if Panasonic is also a horrible level with the same song it's certainly not boring.
There's some neat structures and stuff in individual parts but the thing I really like about this is the subtle progression. It doesn't immediately feel more "packed" from one part to the next but if you were to jump from the start to the end you could pretty clearly see a difference
Once you get past the start of the song sounding like that and the visually displeasing white gradients and that janky-ass wave transition and awkward gravity change and mirror portal spam THEN it's a good level. I like the pulsing object trails and especially the hearts turning into circles for the one orb in the ball segment. I'm also a big fan of the starting part coming back but "recontextualized" and extended with a more cheerful part of the song (maybe the start should sound like that after all). Generally just a fun vibe to the visuals
Why does it just change color when it gets to the drop and then nothing else happens. Also the copypaste in that ufo makes a weird-ass click pattern (derogatory)
Once there was an ugly bossfight, and it was so ugly that I really cannot give much of a shit about any positive qualities this level might have, and also everyone died. The end.
