I realized something recently... I... I think... I like women...

This level was so bad it made me a better creator. I started thinking to myself, "am I making this level for a good reason?", and I realized that oftentimes, I was in fact not making a level for a good reason, and that you, the reader, might not be making a level for a good reason either. Some people might find the concept of "a good reason" for making a level idiotic or even offensive, but it will prevent you from making abominations like this and many others.

No update is going to save this btw. Conceptually bad levels like this are not improved by adding new designs and whatnot.

I didn't even notice that the start of Iced's part was actually explicitly labelled as such inside the level until rewatching it for this review. However even without the text, you can just, tell it doesn't have the same vision Ozpectro and Akira had for this, even if it's more subtle than something like a complete change in deco. That's not to say it's horrible, but it's definitely worse. Except for the last wave, that part is good.

As for Ozpectro and Akira's parts, it's definitely on the better end for both of them. Not too much to say other than them just being solidly made with good designs and GP, especially Akira's spider and the fact the level turns blue when a watery sound plays

You can't get me to hate this level. It's just ridiculous, and I appreciate that. I would categorize this under the same genre as a 10 year old's 2016 impossible superbuff of whatever random level they liked. I would even go so far as to categorize Aeden himself under the same genre as a 10 year old, the only difference being that he actually went ahead and tried going for the idiotic, impossible ideas that a 10 year old would normally learn doesn't work.

It really succeeds at getting the point across that this level is in fact not only stupidly hard, but also stupid. At first glance it looks absurdly hard, then when you pay attention you notice little details that make it even harder, all of it in ways that make it clear this level was built with nothing but difficulty in mind (in a good way). This wasn't what the level originally looked like and it really shows, with the difficulty all coming from the spikes pointing out at you instead of the slopes that'd normally be the focus of an NC level, it's honestly kinda funny. This thing has been around for 6 years now and it's just gotten more and more insane with every new buffdate.

See this clearly has the same sort of soul that Iris Hell and APHRODISIAC have and love letter lacks (hence why this is a 2 instead of a 1 or 0), but the problem is that this level is just boring and the song sucks.

The problem with this (aside from that stupid fucking song) is that it feels so inauthentic. Temmie, Mii Gunner, these are such widely known, surface level works that you're just expected to know them if you've spent much time online. It's a different kind of soulless mass appeal than your average CherryTeam level, sure, but that doesn't change the fact that it's soulless mass appeal. Even if the Mii Gunner animation isn't vanilla, it's still pretty inoffensive.

Compare this to something like Iris Hell or APHRODISIAC. These feel so much more authentic, precisely because they're so much more niche. Iris Heart is far from being instantly recognizeable, you can tell Tygrysek has an actual attachment to her, not to mention the level focuses on hard femdom, sadism, and torture. Likewise, Cerufiffy made their bizarre tastes pretty well known in the community before APHRODISIAC was made, and even if the only artpiece is just the E621 mascot (wtf was this thing called), its inclusion feels genuine.

Don't really get why this of all levels got a cult following. It looks way too similar to itself throughout and for what? The changes in the song's energy and tension are also completely absent from the level itself. At least the gameplay is cool

A level so memorable you can still see it when it's invisible. Pretty much every great thing to say about Black Blizzard's gameplay, sync, effects, atmosphere, etc. can be said about this as well, just to a not-as-extremely-good degree. Two exceptions being structuring (where I'd say this actually outclasses BlBl) and its place in GD's culture (which for me was what really elevated BlBl to being in top 5 best levels ever).

The gameplay may not be good, but at least it's original, right? :)
