This level feels very "playful", so to speak. Obviously the song and effects follow that, but also with the way the text pops in, and even more the gameplay of the initial robot and diagonal ship really capture the same feeling when being played, not to mention the story itself.
I already wrote an extensive review on my video of this level so I'll just repeat the basic parts here: Great atmosphere, and the gameplay feels like an 8* with a hard demon's difficulty rather than a misrated hard demon (in a good way).
Icedcave made this level because he was angry that his most famous work was a level he didn't like. While I disagree with him on not liking old slaughterhouse, you can absolutely feel that anger in this level.
A lot of people complain that this level is just pointless object spam but I feel like you should be looking at this level keeping hota's intricate artstyle outside of GD in mind. This is essentially a series of drawings, and they're all really good drawings.
Another level with a personal connection. This is the reason I started actually speaking with Cuts (though I knew of them prior) and listening to OkameP's music. Also indirectly the reason I can read several foreign writing systems but that's for another time.
Anyway, when you create an impossible level, you should really let your gameplay run wild. You're not constrained by having to make something "fun", you're instead free to do insane movements with the player and make crazy structures, and this (as well as a lot of Cuts' other levels) absolutely nails that.
I love the feeling of "discovering" a good level. It's certainly not the most obscure level I've "discovered" and became a personal favorite, but regardless it felt fun to see. Then you add on the fact that its made up of a bunch of old famous players. Oh and remember the gameplay is amazing and creative. Also the structuring is on point. Great song choice too. Add in an extra attachement to this level through restoring it and hopefully my choice of private account @ makes sense.
May add on some final fixes to the restoration later if I feel like it.
