Why did I like this level back in the day? Uhhhhh...
Yeah, it hasn't aged well. Atmosphere is alright but nothing special and the animated objects kill it in the slow part. Gameplay in each part introduces a concept but never really expands on any of them and it just gets kinda stale, especially after you've seen it so many times.
The predrop and Eclipsed's part are cool but aside from those this really isn't anything special. Just another generic 2019 proto-glow megacollab
man what the hell is this song. also really just not interesting, dont have much to say.
definitely did not review the wrong dead of night at first
There's kind of a good way and a bad way to do 2.0 core and you can see both of them in this level, sadly the bad definitely outweighs the good here. Has not aged very well
I really like the duals with the contrast between one player having pretty typical impossible GP and the other going through complete chaos flying up and down the screen through a constant stream of transitions. Unfortunately this was built with mute evasion as a base so everything else about this level was doomed from the start
1.9 equivalent (derogatory) of a 2.2 level (derogatory).
Shockingly boring, you'd think it'd have something going for it with an interesting concept and generally good execution but it somehow fails anyway. Not really sure how to put it
It's hard to think of something quite as ruined by the song as this.
There was clearly a vision in mind when Thycket picked it, but man, any discomfort coming from this level as a result of the song just does not make up for everything else that was lost. I wish I liked this level, I really want to like this level, but how can I do that when it's all jumbled up and forgotten immediately after seeing it due to a lack of structure? It isn't the good kind of lack of structure you have with old Slaughterhouse or Eyes in the Water. Those levels use a lack of structure amazingly well to get the player lost and hopeles in claustrophobic tunnels and unnatural scenery. Disquietude's lack of structure is paired with unique and varying gameplay, distinct parts, and well, structures.
That's it? That's the big name riot/GS megacollab we waited 4 and a half years for? That was just gray glow!
What a unique and interesting visual style, I hope these custom designs don't make the gameplay harder than it should-
Who am I kidding. This isn't an interesting visual style. This absolutely belongs with its bretheren in the rest of the crystal gauntlet
just doesn't have anything really going for it
