Very interesting! I love the level’s progression and stylization and spinning Acropolis in this direction makes a ton of sense. I wish there was better representation of Aztec culture but as it stands, it’s very fun and I felt extremely immersed in the environment.
I’ve always loved Zobros’ ability to create a completely unique atmosphere across each and every one of his levels and how effective they all are, and this level is no different. Lostlocked is quaking in its boots because Clubstep Nightmares absolutely mogs it in every way, it’s exactly what I picture in my head when I think of a Clubstep nightmare. Dark, gloomy, lifeless, everything about your environment feels menacing. Unfortunately, this sense of dread continues through to the atrocity to play that is this level’s gameplay, but maybe you can call that part of the vision. :P
Feels uniquely LazerBlitz while maintaining so many of the idiosyncrasies that made Fast as Lightning so charming (such as the zwips! syncing with the ship in the first dual). I wish more was done with the gameplay because there are so many ways to take the original's ideas even further while Lightning Speed has many "I can't believe it's not butter" type parts.
Recaptures the original experience extremely well. Also feels like a lot more of a finished product, even if that leads to the level feeling gentrified at times (2nd to last part comes to mind).
A beautiful level with great usage of colors, blue and orange are just such a good complimentary pairing executed to the max here. It feels lively and full of energy and does interesting things with the Nine Circles effect, but it still is just an NC spinoff at the end of the day. Feel like there was a lot more potential if this was its own concept.
