“this is what the level looked like in my head back in 2016.”

– GD Colon

I’m in love with the concept of fully realizing ideas that were never fully baked in the past, Rearmed comes to mind heavily. This level is so charming, so stylish, so unique, it’s so clear where the influences of the original shine through but the JamAttack flavor heightens it to something the original never could’ve been.

F Nostalgists is an amazing anti-Dear Nostalgists, taking every concept from that and just flipping it on its head, while still managing simplicity on its own terms.

Side note, Jayuff is so so so good at making levels. He made this in 2019 and it hasn't aged a single minute, he was just so ahead of his time. But where did he find this song lmao

Kips mastered color theory a decade ago and we're all just trying to play catch-up.

It's quite hard to live up to the highest standards when you remake a FunnyGame level but this to me gets as close as you can probably get, I just wish the part at 38 seconds wasn't "we made the same part but in 2.1!" And it kind of feels like the part at 0:57 has worse song representation? The conclusion in this one is a lot more satisfying than in Dreamer though. Still a great level, Dreamer had a lot of parts that had great core concepts but couldn't be actualized as well (such as the last wave) due to the limitations of the editor at the time and STARGAZER takes pretty good advantage of being a limitless version of Dreamer.

Not even sure if this really counts as a remake honestly. The circumstances around this level's existence are really weird, and a lot of it is just the same as the original I See Stars. Ultimately still going to give it a high score because Serponge's part is in my eyes the best part of the whole ISS series and the conclusion/payoff of this version is a lot more satisfying than where the original ISS ended.
