this level could be so much better than it is. this level was straight up torture to play and i'm so glad that i never have to touch this horrid "level" ever again. this level is a unbalanced, buggy mess with very little redeeming factors. the only good parts of this level is that it's pretty satisfying, and the song. this level is so unbelievably chokepoint heavy it's absurd. the actual gameplay itself isnt even bad, but the way its balanced makes this level unbelievably frustrating to play. 0-7 is fine, nothing bad but nothing special either 7-20 isnt that bad either. it's pretty satisfying and (for the most part) is pretty fair. my complaint is that the 16% wave dash orb and the 18% black orb timings are incredibly difficult and never get consistent. 20-36 is probably the second easiest part, only behind the last dual. this part was fun and consistent. dying here was pretty annoying though. the real problem i have is the 36 red orb timing, which not only is tight, but you cant see the portal. dying here was always incredibly frustrating. 36-44 is where is all goes down to shit. this part is full of bullshit timings, most notably the 39 ufo black orb, the 42 wave, and the 44 ship. but none of this compares to the absolute fucking dumpster fire that is 44-50. this is probably the worst part in any level ever. not only is every timing hard, but it completely throws sync out the window. and the 48 ufo. holy fucking shit these 2 singular clicks are so fucking unfair its unbelievable. imaging someone with a knife. now imagine this person stabbing you in every inch of your body. take all that pain, and condense it into these 2 clicks. its so bad i fucking hated it so much. 50-54 isnt nearly as bad, but its still very bad. the 51 wave and the 52 ship release are actual piles of shit and the 54 timing into the dual is so incredibly aggravating to die to because its right before the actually fair parts. 54-60 is really easy, but dying here made me want to gouge my eyes out. 60-70 is actually a really good part. its very satisfying and mostly fair, although 67-69 is much harder than the rest of the dual. 70-79 is very chokeable but pretty fair, although the 72 black orb was really hard 79-100 is free
i had a phenomenal experience with this level the way it is and i wasn't expecting anything better or worse. i'm delighted to have a "new hardest" that's supposedly top #482, gddl rank 26, and nlw insane tier, all of which are complete exaggerations. as a mobile player this is definitely the most overrated extreme in existence you cannot deadass tell me that ts is harder than bloodbath
nerves from from inconsistency/chokepoints, not simply just length. that's why many xxl levels kinda suck, because often half the parts are like stereo madness difficulty and then the other half is harder and actually engaging, but unfortunately the stereo madness parts ruin it and then they make the level feel unbalanced and scary to play
although boogie has the "harder" gameplay, it's constant, with no mood changes and almost perfect balance, and it's never more than medium demon difficulty, so not much nerves personally, and i don't even find it nessescarily harder than the other xxl levels
look at cicada3302. it's 7 minutes long layout with the unbalanced and scary parts like i mentioned. it's also a minute longer and has bugs that can kill you far into the level. but it's ranked at like top 900? meanwhile i found this level far more pleasant and functional (and again, not really harder), but it's so much higher, how does that make sense?
the only explanation i can see for such an irrationally high ranking is the fact that it's kind of a waste of time to learn, but again, it's easy/med demon difficulty gp, the level is very obviously nerfed and dumbed down a lot throughout, the learning process didn't feel overwhelming to me at all. and i'm really picky with extremes and literally cannot stand any others that aren't just 99% learny and 1% anything directly difficult like this level. or the people who gave "opinions" looked at the level for a mere 5 nanoseconds without really thinking about it
very nice level, but the bossfight is probably the hardest and most annoying part, on full detail the level is laggy, and there are subtle indicators for the fireballs in this part, but they're gone in ldm, which is annoying. it's difficult to react to and is like rng. fortunately for the other boss attacks you can just not do anything and let your ship fall to the ground and get teleported at the ceiling repeatedly

probably the only good thing about this level is the song, and even then it's another one of those songs where they had a good idea but the idea lasts only 5 seconds so it just loops repeatedly. and i like the break wave part, but that's about it
there hasn't been another level like this one. this level is simply unmatched in terms of looks/aura/vision/theming and i love it. i haven't seen any other levels truly better or more unique in such aspects (in my opinion)
but unfortunately, with that aside, there is no ignoring everything wrong with this level.
the gameplay is very hard and sucks ass, and i know that calling a demonlist level too hard is dumb af, but in this case i make an exception, i would be disappointed if this level remained as top 1 difficulty, because it's so unique, i wouldn't like seeing it being at a difficulty that only like 5 people can handle, and making it easier could help with the gameplay being bad
the music sync is insufficient. of course it's not possible to sync to every single drum and beat in the song, but the level completely ignores so many of them it's crazy. it affects the viewing expirience for me and makes it unsatisfying to see that the gameplay and stuff could've been synced to the music more
and also, maybe they should've just picked another song. i really like this one, it's pretty much unlike anything else in gd just like the rest of the level is, but it's an instrumental of a real song from a band with the same name as the level, and i think back in 2018 they said they didn't want their song being used in this level, but i guess the creators ignored them here
they also ignored the concerns about the stolen arts taken from poor deviantart artists and other random places online with 0 credit. nothing was changed there
this 2021 version is definitely a big improvement from the 2018 one though, it's less messy, more sleek and polished
but oh well. i guess it can remain as a level to be watched but not played. again, in terms of visuals and stuff, i still really love this level, nothing beats it for me. but it's sad how everything else turned out with it, and how there hasn't been any comeback or alternatives for this level ever since. i think it's untapped potential, this is a very unique level
visually beautiful level, but like always, there are some problems that prevent it from being my favorite.
the first 5% is the hardest and it sucks, the black orb clicks at 3% are RNG.
at 10%, there are portal designs moved above the level covering the deco. it is obviously a mistake, and i don't understand why they did that, this part looks lackluster without them, and thus all the portals here are invisible.
the level feels unbalanced. 13-16% is free, and you can also fall out of the level there at 15% until 28%, leading you to the calm mini cube part, but then you lose the clicksync for the rest of the level.
also you can skip a ton of orbs in that part, and there is an inconsistency throughout the level with orbs sometimes requiring you to click them because of saws, and other times they don't despite being obviously skippable.
at 16%, all the non-spike hitboxes cease to exist, letting you escape the level temporarily.
after the mini cube part, there is an easy and satisfying clicksync part decorated by smoop. unfortunately, after his deco ends, the level goes back to being bad again. the following clicksync gameplay is more rough, and just for the sake of clicksync, you have to do 3 clicks really fast twice in this part, coming off as surprisingly high cps, no other part in this level requires you to suddenly click so quickly.
at 75%, there is ugly glow all over the background, visually ruining this part of the level. LDM doesn't change anything.
at the monotonous clicking part at 85%, this part is visually pretty much perfect. but the gameplay near the end of it doesn't work very consistently/comfortably.
the next part after that with the same kind of gameplay has a pixel style deco, which kind of sticks out in my opinion, also it seems the creator's icon/logo is copy pasted repeatedly throughout this part, and it doesn't toggle off when the rest of the part does once you leave it. the gameplay here works fine though.
the last ship part looks alright but it feels a little wrong and not very satisfying in my opinion.
the whole layout was evidently made by one person, as you can see copypasted things such as the same mini ship red orbs downwards corridor like 3 times in the level, and the obsession with 2.1 F blocks. it's okay to make all the gameplay, but it should be fresh throughout and not reused ideas.
there are some parts that i actually prefer on LDM than on full detail.
for example, the fast flow part at 6% has all these 3 stupid screen effects no one asked for, like the white scaling squares on the sides bothering your view, the other colored scaling squares in the background, and then the rotating checkered bg behind all that. LDM only keeps the last one, which i prefer, actually the 2nd to last one is rather fine too, but i hate such fake scaling effects that end up looking laggy/ugly in 2.2.
the slow blue rainbow part is really nice and chill, but on full detail, the "leaves" foreground that just look like ugly blurry rotating paint splotches ruins it, even on UHD quality they still look like that. LDM removes them, but then it also removes other nice things in this part.
the LDM also isn't effective enough sometimes. it seems that it was made by the decorators, so some parts don't even seem to have any LDM at all, others are weak, etc, some parts are still laggier than others for me.
all these issues make me have to bring my rating down a lot. i wish this level was better.
objectively the most beautiful level in existence. comatose and well rested are NOTHING compared to this absolute cinematic masterpiece. everything is mastered to complete and undeniable perfection. i could continue writing but idk too lazy
the glowy ball part is too good for this level, everything else is complete shit. song is ehh, there are chokepoints, mid af deco, advy has a part in this, the verifier touches kids too, "ldm will be fixed soon" last updated: +5 years ago, everything just aged horribly, the level is rotten shit
